How To Prayer-Journal To Delight Your Spirit In God!
What Is Prayer Journaling?
Prayer Journaling is essentially your own personal diary to God. Having a prayer journal can be an amazing way to connect with God and help you release everyday stress.
During this time you’re able to be completely vulnerable and honest with God! You’re getting rid of all the negative thoughts that are being held hostage in your head, causing you to only believe the negative.
Benefits Of Prayer Journaling:
It also allows you to actually dig deep and address the feelings you don’t speak on. Helping to unfold the exact cause of emotions and root of your insecurities.
It breaks down those walls of fear and anxiety. Giving you the power over the negative thoughts and feelings that you feel.
When we pour out our feelings to the Lord, surrendering ourselves to His will. We are allowing Him to pour back in us, a fresh batch of strength, guidance, peace and many other blessings!
Different Ideas You Can Journal About:
There are a lot of wonderful ideas that you can journal on!
- A great idea to journal about is the woman or man you want to be! What does the future woman or man that God is creating you to be, look like?
- Another idea is journaling about your goals and milestones! When journaling your goals, God can sometimes reveal the needed steps to take in order to achieve those goals.
- Journal about your struggles. You can use this journal to write the things you need His help and guidance on.
- You can use it to journal on the things He’s brought you through and all of your many blessings!
- Lastly you can even journal God’s promises and truth, to counteract the lies of the enemy.
Bible Study Methods To Add To Your Journal:
Two of my favorite Bible Study Methods to add to my prayer journal!
- The Soap Method:
- Scripture- You write whatever scripture or verse of the day, you were lead to.
- Observation- Ask God the reason you were lead to that particular scripture.
- Application- Identify way you can apply this verse to your life everyday.
- Prayer- Create and write a prayer based off of the scripture.
- Study By Book:
- Select a book and read it entirely. You can do it in a day or over an period of days. (Examples of books in the Bible would be: John, Psalm, Esther, and Revelations.)
- Next write down what the Lord is revealing to you in this book. Also try to identify the theme.
- Lastly write the spiritual truths in the book that are applicable to your life. List how you will act on the lessons being taught.
My Personal Testimony Of Prayer Journaling:
Since I’ve start my journey of prayer journaling it has allowed me to connect and build a greater relationship with our father God and Jesus! It has become a safe place for me to vent and be my real “raw” self.
I’m now able to channel and communicate my feelings in a more positive way and identify the root of my own personal struggles. Which helped me learn how to pray “bolder prayers!”
It’s allowed me to look at the prayers God has answered for me! And also gave me a look at my own personal growth.
Seeing the ways I have changed and now handle certain things and situations today!
In conclusion Prayer Journaling has done so many amazing things for me,and I hope it will do the same with you. I hope it allows you to connect and build a closer relationship with our father! In Jesus Mighty Name Amen!
